Should you fund your new service with fees or with advertising?
How big will the market be next year?
How much should you charge?
Online, it is easy to get distracted by ideas that get much attention but are not good investments. Doing business online may be exciting and innovative but it should still be underpinned by solid, rational business principles.
This is where Aqute comes in, to provide a complete analysis of the market including size and direction, segmentation, participant profiles and where your company fits in. Who else has launched similar services and what was the fate of those services? Where is the evidence of customer demand? Where are the revenues? Armed with this information, our clients know in advance whether a service is worth launching, how much money they can make from it and how the market will change as a result.
Some of the companies for whom we have created business cases:
Case studies in business case analysis
Leading global bank: One of the world's biggest banks asked Aqute to evaluate the business case for creating a business-to-business payments platform. The project required us to advise on market entry strategies including finding untapped niches, customer segmentation, product pricing, feature development and revenue forecasts. Aqute devised a detailed business case and launch plan including details of the payment platform, go to market tactics and success measures.
How was the research useful to our client? The bank used our analysis to decide how the product should be priced, to whom it should be offered and how to pitch the product against competitors.
Online classifieds leader: Aqute was approached by a classifieds company trying to fend off domestic threats and at the same time plan international expansion. We created two business cases for our client - one for the launch of new defensive services domestically, and one for the launch of expansive services overseas. Our research included financial breakdown of classifieds companies in 20 markets around the world (over 100 companies based on our local expertise), as well as market modeling to help the client forecast their potential revenues.
How was the research useful to our client? Our data helped the classifieds company to know how much to invest in its new services, and when to expect a return on its investment.
